Home Is Where Your Heart Is

This year, without a doubt, COVID-19 had us welcoming unexpected guests: post-poned weddings, the delayed launch of several service package, travel restrictions and so many more interrupted plans!

One event service package we had particularly in mind to launch this year was our “Home Is Where Your Heart Is” package. We were inspired to bring a little sense of home into every occasion, and that means bringing our event services back to our founders’ hometown – Kota Kinabalu & Melaka! But with COVID-19 hitting us, our travel plans had to come to a screeching halt, leading to a delayed service package launch (fingers crossed we will be able to do it next year!).

While we couldn’t travel to Sabah, we’re still incredibly proud to be able to work on a few concept and styling projects in Melaka. Here are some of our top memorable projects in Melaka as we celebrate small wins this 2020:

EVENTISTRY Melaka

As they say, every effort counts, no matter how small it is.

While we couldn’t curate glamorous and big weddings this year like what we had planned, we’re glad to still be able to work with a few event styling and concept projects in Melaka. From cafe openings to even our very own founder’s brother’s betrothal celebration, these small projects definitely got us feeling a little closer to home:

Ah Ma Ho Liao Melaka Cafe Opening

Where minimal meets festivity, Ah Ma Ho Liao’s cafe opening was one where we incorporated Melaka’s rustic landmark into our event styling and concept, making the perfect backdrop that played a huge role throughout the joyous day.

With the colour red symbolizing prosperity in the Chinese custom, we simply can’t miss adding dashes of it (if not more) that added a touch of liveliness into our minimal styling approach. Being able to be part of Ah Ma Ho Liao’s humble beginnings truly was a highlight for us this year.

Freddy & Sylvia’s Betrothal Celebration

Spot the family resemblance?
Hint: it’s our founder, Juvien’s brother’s betrothal celebration!

Every details matter when it comes to styling momentous and traditional festivities. For the Chinese betrothal celebrations, themes like “longevity” and “prosperity” is vital to be included on the day of the celebration. Showering the bride-to-be and groom-to-be with gifts from family and friends are a norm to bless them in their marriage ahead.

In this styling concept, we simply can’t resist adding on traditional Chinese props to reminisce the treasured Chinese traditions. With betrothal gifts and the “Happiness” symbol as the centerpiece that gels together the decorations in harmony.

Love Not Wasted Melaka

Ever since launching our first Green Wedding Package – Love Not Wasted KL back in April 2020, it had been our long dream and goal to bring it to Melaka as well!

We’re glad that the long wait is over when we got to launch Love Not Wasted Melaka in November this year, bringing small yet mindful and sustainable event planning services to Melaka. Collaborating with various wedding professionals from Melaka, we’re truly excited to more #SustainableEvents that we’ll be bringing to Melaka in the future.

Party In A Box Melaka

Lydia’s Party In A Box

A rustic white themed Party-In-A-Box for a classy 70th Birthday Party.

With 70 marking the golden age for every individual, we immediately knew we had to add personal touches into this Party-In-A-Box theme! This modern family affair certainly brought us to tears when we started including favourite quotes from Lydia’s dad onto our customized table place cards. Our favourite part was curating the life-sized “7-0” foam board standee filled with family photographs because for an intimate family celebration.

While we may not had an ideal start to 2020, we’re grateful to have curated these small projects back home. We’re even more grateful to be able to provide some sense of encouragement for our clients by adding a touch of home into our styling concepts.

Whether pandemic or not, as long as home is close to our hearts, any event can be meaningful.
