Little Isabella lives in the wonderous UK, but her routes lead her a long way to Malaysia! It was for this reason that her mom came to us seeking recommendations for her first birthday party in Malaysia. That way, Isabella gets to cap off her first year surrounded by all of her loving family. We thought that this was a sweet and wonderful idea, and suggested they have the party right here in Kuala Lumpur – at the KL Journal Hotel! It was the perfect setting for the party, featuring both an outdoor and indoor area; the first to be used as the backdrop area and the latter to be used for activities and dining. It was also the perfect size; Isabella’s party had a guest list of 40 and the hotel had a capacity to host 80 people, so it wasn’t too big or too small. High tea was also catered from the hotel itself! Isabella loves carnivals, so the theme of the party was a carnival based on the style of “The Greatest Showman”. Guests were greeted with a magnificent circus backdrop; crimson curtains pulled away to reveal red and white streamers flowing from ceiling to floor, with balloons and flag strips giving the setup a playful atmosphere. Carnival signage stood to the side of the backdrop, and “The Greatest Isabella Turns One” beamed from a bold carnival-themed logo at the center of it. Below, circus performer props littered an arrangement of wooden crates. Everything to stir up a little one’s wild imagination: Hula hoop, a ringmaster’s hat, clown wigs, you name it! Lastly, it wouldn’t be a circus without some circus animals, so here the animals were. A stuffed giraffe, tiger, lion, and elephants stood before the backdrop, welcoming all of Isabella’s guests into her carnival wonderland! The feature table continued to carry the whimsical carnival theme, with a display of wooden crates forming a makeshift table. Matching decorative items and photo frames sat atop the table, displaying lovely quotes from “The Greatest Showman” and precious pictures of the birthday girl. The table also featured an array of dessert options; guests could choose from popcorn, pretzels, and jelly beans. Yum! Staying true to the carnival theme, the party favors were popcorn paper bags with candy inside; Isabella’s friends were in for quite a treat! They would also soon discover that there were even more pleasant surprises at the party, though; a bouncy castle stood inside for all of the kids to play in! The kids had a wonderful time at the fun-filled carnival, and Isabella’s very first birthday celebration was the perfect end to a fun and sweet evening. Happy birthday to the Greatest Isabella!
