They say true love always finds its way back, Lydia & Zare’s relationship is a true testament of that. Lydia & Zare both attended the same High School, but only met years later. After going in and out of relationships (not with each other), the couple eventually got together back in their hometown Melaka. When the couple first engaged us to coordinate their wedding, we immediately jumped right into it, as they were both a dear friend to our co-founder, Juvien. Their wedding day was a true reflection of their love: pure & natural.

The pair tied the knot in the magical One&Only Desaru Coast, a hidden gem that’s hard not to fall in love with, located on the east coast of Johor. It was the perfect spot for a getaway with family & friends, and an intimate wedding celebration.

Surrounded by breathtaking views, it is no wonder that taking photographs around the resort is a must. Lydia & Zare, both being fans of film photography, had their couple portraits taken a day before their wedding day. Nestled in One&Only is this hidden gem of more than a kilometre-long acrylic white beach, where Lydia & Zare captured precious moments.

After multiple postponements due to Covid-19 restrictions, these delicate handmade paper invitations with customized letterpress was finally sent out to family & friends. These handmade wedding invitations was sketched from scratch by the designer, who’s also Lydia’s friend.

Welcoming guests at the entrance of the venue were couple’s portraits printed on fabric, delicately hung on copper arches.

This fun, rustic, Bubble Tea cart makes the perfect sweet treat for guests, and not to mention, Lydia’s favourite beverage as well. Decorated in elegant flower arrangements, it gave off a beautiful rustic vibe to the entire space.

Friends of Lydia & Zare from overseas, unable to make it to the pair’s wedding day due to Covid-19 restrictions, called to be a part of the couple’s special day. It was a heartfelt moment for the couple even through a simple video call, to celebrate with their closed friends from afar.

A gesture of appreciation from Lydia to her bridesmaid with handmade gifts of her favourite scent shampoo and friendship rings.

Being the carefree bride as she is, Lydia paired her stunning minimalist white gown with her favourite pair of white sneakers. Forget “Comfort Over Style”, we think that this pairing by the bride embodies “Comfort With Style”!

When it came to the colour palette, the couple opted for neutral & earth tones to complement the venue’s natural surroundings. Zare looks dapper in his tailor-made soft grey suit. In contrast, because why not, a pair of fun, bright yellow socks that’s hard to be missed.

It was a white wedding affair where modern meets minimal. What was initially planned to be a morning ceremony, had to be delayed till the afternoon due to unexpected rainy weather. Thankfully, just before the start of the ceremony, the rain stopped. Despite the turn of events, it was a joyous celebration with the support of the wedding vendors, and the couple’s friends and family.

Flower hoops as an elegant twist to the traditional bridesmaid bouquet. These flower hoops with rustic personal touches can also be reused as a beautiful home piece.

It was a special ceremony, not only celebrating the couple’s marriage but also another milestone of Lydia & Zare’s relationship. Despite being the tough guy Zare is, the groom became emotional and cried before the ceremony walk-in. Zare shared a meaningful moment as he gave his first flower bouquet to Lydia during the ceremony. Guests were teary-eyed as they celebrated the couple’s journey.

Guests were seated in a semi-circle ceremony area, surrounded by arc structures and sheer layers for a minimalist yet elegant pairing.

A fun & creative twist to the traditional petal toss, guests threw white paper planes instead to celebrate the new Mr. & Mrs.

A white marquee tent, decorated with glistening fairy lights was set up for the dinner reception. Located outdoors, guests were swept away by how magical the atmosphere feels, and the gorgeous table arrangements with gold details.

These handwritten place cards by Lydia definitely brought a smile to the guests’ faces as it was the nicknames that Lydia uses to call her friends. To add personal touches to the dinner reception, a close friend of the bride’s had made handmade soaps as guest favours, customized to the bride’s favourite scent.

It was a memorable night of warm speeches, laughter, and a night filled with the joy of simply being together. Guests were swayed away by a special number performed by the bride’s dad on the harmonica. Both Lydia and her dad share an intimate father-and-daughter relationship. Many have told them that they’re alike in their personality: determined, loving, dedicated, and sometimes, a little stubborn.

Lydia & Zare serenades through the night with a duet, as the guests dance the night away.

We’re incredibly thankful to be part of Lydia & Zare’s wonderful milestone together. Nothing made the day more memorable than to be able to celebrate with the people alongside us.
