Best of friends, and now, lifelong partners, Thiviyah & Vecknishwaran has celebrated countless of meaningful milestones together. The pair have been planning for their wedding day for two long years: facing multiple postponements and the unknowns of COVID-19. When the big day finally came, it was truly a joyous occasion. We were incredibly excited to be part of Thiviyah & Vecks big day, as this was our first traditional Indian wedding ceremony that we got to plan for.

FIRST LOOK

Thiviyah & Vecknishwaran’s wedding was one that feels straight out of a fairytale. The pair tied the knot at Puncak Dani, a European-themed Bungalow located near the hills of Genting Highlands. It was an intimate celebration with family & friends accompanied with a spectacular nature’s view.

Thiviyah wore a soft blush Saree with carefully embroidered floral patterns for her First Look, adorned with show-stopping bangles and jewellery pieces.

We can’t get enough of Thiviyah’s floral hair embellishments that add a touch of softness to match this Garden-themed wedding ceremony.

Thiviyah’s beautiful Mendhi drawn by @shainaazmehendi2018 comes with a romantic twist: telling of the couple’s 7-year long love story and how they’ve shared many precious memories together.

Thiviyah & Vecknishwaran shares a meaningful touch in this very special moment, honouring the Indian tradition where the pair could not see each other until the wedding day.

After that, it was a short photography session with the pair’s Bridal Party with customized Sarees and Suits in matching themes.

WEDDING CEREMONY

Careful thought was put in especially when it came to building this gorgeous “Mandap” for Thiviyah & Vecknishwaran’s wedding ceremony. Ethereal floating red florals that give off a dreamy look, and lush floral pairings add a touch of lavishness to the wedding. A “Mandap” is central to all traditional Hindu weddings, its four pillars symbolize fruitfulness in the couple’s marriage, and only selected people are able to enter the Mandap during the ceremony.

At that time, travel borders were just beginning to open up as we approach the end of MCO. To show that we care for the guests’ safety, a Testing Booth was set up as a COVID-19 checkpoint before guests enter the venue. Prior to the wedding, Thiviyah & Vecknishwaran went the extra mile by sending test kits to the guests. Test results were then properly checked before allowing guests to enter the venue. This creative touch to the wedding help keep the guests’ worries at bay.

A Sanitizing Station was set up at the Registration Table with all the care essentials needed. We added a little splash of fun with these colourful Social Distancing Wristbands as a reminder for guests to keep to the necessary SOP during the wedding.

Inside Tip: Consider preparing mosquitto repellent patches for guests, and heel stoppers for women when planning an outdoor wedding ceremony.

Red, an auspicious colour even for Hindu weddings, symbolizes new beginnings. Thiviyah looks absolutely stunning in her bold red Saree while the bungalow makes the picture-perfect backdrop with its European-styled interior.

Tying the "Thali" that symbolizes eternal love between the Bride & the Groom
Floral Garlands that represents 'Love' is exchanged during the Wedding Ceremony

Thiviyah & Vecknishwaran’s big day was not only a celebration of love, but also a celebration of traditions. Various Hindu traditions took place during the ceremony like prayers, tying the “Thali”, exchanging of floral garlands and many more. It was an eye-opening experience, even for us!

Stage-turned-photobooth, the Mandap was used as a stunning photobooth for a memorable photography session after the ceremony.

Sustainable Tip: Reuse as much as possible. Repurposing your Wedding Stage backdrop as a photobooth not only is a more sustainable effort, but also helps in minimizing decoration costs too!

DINNER RECEPTION

The couple went with an ‘L’-shaped canopy with a theatre setting in the centre for the main event of the day. Fairy lights lit the canopy up beautifully as the celebration lasted through the night.

The couple chose a soft colour palette to accompany the night. Thiviyah wore a soft cream Lehenga with gold embellishments and Vechnishwary in a charming pastel cream suit.

The night was filled with fun activities, with reception games not missed out on the list, and happy tears shed as friends and family shared their heartfelt speeches to the Bride & Groom.

It was a night to remember as guests sat underneath the star-lit sky, celebrating Thiviyah & Vecknishwaran’s joyous day.

Insider Tip: When renting an Airbnb for your wedding, always check the venue’s electricity capacity espeically when it comes to planning big events!

And of course, the night wouldn’t be complete without a Dance Number! The hall was instantly turned into a dance floor when we removed the reception chairs. The celebration ended as guests danced the night away.

Though the wait for the Wedding Day to happen was long, Thiviyah & Vecknishwaran’s enduring love for each other inspired us that all the wait was worth every second.
